Christian Comedian Corie Johnson Chronicles 180 Pound Weight Loss Struggle in DocumentaryChristian comedian Corie Johnson is open and honest with his story of faith and hard work which propelled him to loose more than 180 pounds.

In the video, the Columbia, South Carolina native uses narrations and comedy to inspire others through his weight loss journey. PATH MEGAzine is calling early screenings of the bio-documentary inspiring, thought-provoking, and hilarious. But growing up Johnson’s weight gains were no laughing matter. Tipping the scales at 423 pounds in 2011, Johnson was ready for a life-altering change. See video below.

The Weight is Over, is a documentary following Comedian Corie Johnson as he overcomes his battle with morbid obesity. Overweight his entire life, weighing as much as 252 pounds in the 5th grade, facing physical challenges is nothing new for Corie. But after losing over 180 pounds over the last two plus years, without the assistance of weight loss surgery, Corie attempts to do things that his weight prohibited him from his entire life. Like, riding a bicycle, in door rock climbing, swimming, and much more. Also featured will be a food preparation segment where Corie prepares healthy, simple, but tasty meals anyone can prepare.

Each of the four segments will also follow the comedian and radio personality as he speaks to both kids and adults about the importance of healthy lifestyle, through a balanced diet, and exercise. Set to premier on YouTube in March 2014, “The Weight Is Over” is sure to inspire some, motivate many, and entertain all.

Christian Comedian Corie Johnson Chronicles 180 Pound Weight Loss Struggle in DocumentaryBio: Corie Johnson is a Comedian, Actor, and Writer from Columbia, South Carolina. Born in 1984, Corie is a graduate of W.J. Keenan High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. While attending Morris College, he discovered his gift as a Stand up comedian. In 2003, he began his comedic career at the Comedy House in Columbia, South Carolina. He continued to perform at the Comedy House on “Open Mic Night” over the next year and a half. In 2005, He entered a Christian comedy competition presented and hosted by Christian Comedian Akintunde and No Joke Entertainment. After being named one of the top performers, Akintunde decided to take the young comedian under his wings to help groom him in an effort for him to have the opportunity to reach his greatest potential. Under the leadership of Akintunde, Corie gained experience in learning how to conduct all the other aspects of comedy, in which otherwise he would have lacked. In July of 2005 at the young age of twenty one, Corie had the privilege to perform in front of thousands on the Family Expo Stage at T.D. Jakes “Mega fest”. Also in 2005, Corie was blessed with the opportunity to perform at Pastor Jamal Bryant’s church Deliverance Temple in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2006, he also co-produced Akintunde’s stand up comedy DVD, “Brutally Honest”. Also in 2006, Corie made his television debut on the TV Series, “ God Aint No Joke” on the “Black Family Channel”. In 2007 along with Comedian Akintunde, Small Fire, and Broderick Rice were featured on the It’s Time2laugh Christian Comedy Tour.
