Former Mary Mary Manager Mitchell Solarek Now Managing Lalah Hathaway

Former Mary Mary Manager Mitchell Solarek Now Managing Lalah HathawayMitchell Solarek, founder and president of Maximum Artist Group, is pleased to officially announce Lalah Hathaway as Maximum’s newest client.

Solarek, who manages a number of successful clients, confirmed this Lalah Hathaway rumor over the weekend amidst much social media chatter. Solarek, also known as Manager Mitch from the hit television series Mary Mary on WeTV, stated:

“My team at Maximum and I are honored to be working with such an exceptional talent. Lalah has built a solid career and a stellar reputation in the music industry. We are honored to be working along side of her to build on a great foundation. We look forward to surrounding her with great creative collaborators and getting her into the studio very soon to make new music.”

Lalah followed up with, “I am excited about the new opportunities that are coming my way to enhance my musical journey. I’m looking forward to exploring new avenues and sharing my music with an expanded audience. My partnership with Mitchell and the team at Maximum is a great step on that path.”

Solarek who is currently suing Mary Mary for commissions owns Maximum Artist Group, located in Nashville, Tenn., currently manages award-winning and chart-topping recording artists and producers including: Grammy nominated and 5 time Dove award-winning Female Vocalist of the Year Natalie Grant, American Idol alum Danny Gokey, award-winning producer, writer and artist Donald Lawrence, and award-winning producer Bernie Herms. In addition to artists, Maximum manages the Dare to Be conferences featuring Natalie Grant and Charlotte Gambill.

Born to R&B/Soul music royalty, most people know her simply as the daughter of late Soul music legend, Donny Hathaway, but there is more to Lalah Hathaway than that. A trained pianist and vocalist, she is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music and her career has spanned two decades. She made her music debut in 1990 on Virgin Records with the self-titled album Lalah Hathaway. In 2008, Lalah released her 4th solo album Self Portrait, which garnered her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. 21 years after the release of her first LP, her career continues to thrive. In total, her work includes multiple solo releases, guest collaborations and a steady stream of unforgettable live performances.

Ms. Hathaway has recorded and toured with several legendary acts including George Benson, Joe Sample, George Duke, Marcus Miller, Mary J. Blige, Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, David Sanborn, Carl Thomas, Angie Stone, Robert Glasper, Grover Washington, Esperanza Spalding, and Prince.
