Is faith-based entertainment becoming “in-fashion”? “Are Christian reality shows helping or hurting the Church”? These questions and more will be explored during the MVMT50 ‘Family, Faith, Film Panel + Session’ event this Sunday at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX.
Just a few years ago, these question may have seemed farfetched but with the recent monumental successes of “The Bible” series (The History Channel) and Christian-based reality shows like Mary Mary (We TV) and Preachers of L.A.(Oxygen), it appears that a significant trend is developing.
Current leader in the faith-based film industry will be present, including the Indianapolis-based Tyscot Film & Entertainment. Also during the event, Tyscot will present the trailer for its upcoming film, “Switching Lanes” which stars Fred Hammond, Marla Maples, Terri J. Vaughn, Michael Lerner, Kim Fields and was directed by Tommy Ford (Fox’s Martin).
Panelist will provide tips and offer insight on this fascinating topic. The ‘Family, Faith, and Film Panels+ Session’ event starts at 3:30p.m. and will be held at the Brass House (115 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX). Admission is Free.
