Continuing to blaze a trail following his No. 1 album debut, BMG Recording Artist Danny Gokey is back on top this week with his single “Hope In Front of Me” taking the No. 1 spot on the National Christian Audience radio chart reaching nearly 9.8 million listeners.
The hit single “Hope In Front of Me” made the tenacious jump to the top with a major spin increase after spending two weeks at No. 2.
“Hope In Front of Me” released in February of this year. In July, it landed at No. 16 on the chart. The track broke the top 10 at No. 6 three weeks later. After nearly 30 weeks on the chart, “Hope In Front of Me” made the remarkable journey to the No. 1 spot this week, making a story fit for the hope the single embodies.
“Thanks to everyone who supported my first No. 1 single; I am grateful,” said Gokey. “This song has been an anthem in my life, and I have heard many inspiring stories of hope from people across the country. As a songwriter and recording artist, I hope people connect with a lyric and message in a song, and it’s exciting to see that happening with ‘Hope In Front of Me.'”
“When I met Danny, I was moved by his vision, his heart, and his music; an inspirational triple threat,” said Richard Blackstone, who runs the Artist Services division of BMG, North America. “We all have moments of struggle and Danny’s ‘Hope In Front of Me’ has become an outstretched hand, or a shoulder to lean on, for so many of us. I simply love the song. I am so very proud of everyone involved on this team from the songwriters and producer, to the efforts of BMG and Maximum Artist, for creating this extraordinary success story.”
“Hope in Front of Me” is penned by co-writing trio Gokey, Brett James, and Bernie Herms. Herms also produced the chart-topping track.
“Danny with his co-writers nailed this; what an incredible song and strong track from producer Bernie Herms,” said Executive Vice President BMG Chrysalis, Kos Weaver. “This No. 1 is the result of the power of this song along with the great efforts by the radio team of Chris Hauser and Matt Ingle. BMG Artist Services continues to deliver, kudos to John Allen, Richard Blackstone and Jason Hradil. And last but definitely not least, manager Mitchell Solarek, Penny Railey and the Maximum crew know how to get it done.”
Riding the success of his album and single, Gokey continues touring the country performing at concerts, sporting events, and conferences. Stay tuned for Gokey’s 2015 tour announcement.
