Leading Christian rapper Lecrae recently announced that his seventh studio album “Anomaly” will be available in August.
Lecrae is capturing the hearts and challenging the minds of the hip hop community open to hearing positive lyrics and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Lecrae’s talent has garnered him a number of celebrity endorsements, including Bun B, NBA baller Steph Curry and Jeremy Lin. As pointed out in a recent Rapzilla article, even these prominent figures are anticipating the release with Steph Curry recently tweeting hashtag Anomaly.
When asked about his relationship with athletes like Curry and Lin Lecrae says, “We’re all anomalies in the sense that you might look at us the same way like, “I don’t get it; you don’t sit here; you don’t belong; a morally upstanding hip-hop artist? What is that? It doesn’t make sense to me.” But we all have stories, and we all have unique stories that make us who we are.”
Lecrae’s current CD ‘Church Clothes 2’ is still in the top 10 after 32 weeks on the charts. Lecrae was the first Gospel rapper to debut at #1 on Billboard with consecutive albums. And the first Gospel rapper to have two albums in the top 10 of Billboard at the same time!
As Lecrae continues to make history, Lecrae knows his responsibilities. “I do understand that with great power comes great responsibility. I take it seriously, but I don’t feel like, “Oh man, I gotta live differently now.” “I’m still being me.”
