Award Winning Songwriter V. Michael McKay Encourages The Masses With New Music Headed To Radio

Award Winning Songwriter V. Michael McKay Encourages The Masses With New Music Headed To RadioTwo time Dove Award winning master composer V. Michael McKay has been used by God to pen powerful musical declarations of faith and confident assurance in God’s promises. His many compositions including The Battle Is The Lord’s, The Good Shepherd ( both recorded by Yolanda Adams) , The Potters House (Tramaine Hawkins), All In His Hands (Florida Mass Choir), Broken But I’m Healed (Byron Cage), The Corinthian Song (Kathy Taylor), I’m Still Here (Albertina Walker) and Oh Jesus (Dorothy Norwood) have conveyed messages of comfort to people across the world. McKay continues to inspire as Rest (For My Yoke Is Easy) impacts the nation and the world via radio.

“For My Yoke Is Easy is a scripture that we learn as children.says the Houston native. “Its akin to people learning Psalm 23 or Psalm 27. These were words that I heard my mother and her mother recite with such conviction as I was growing up. When we realize that Jesus gives us a special invitation in Matthew 11:25-30 and the invite allows us to bring our worries, our frustrations and our fears and in turn He gives us his rest. We can exchange our weakness for His strength. I Peter 5:7 is interspersed in the middle of the song, and what a joy it is to know we can cast every care upon Jesus and realize the load is not too heavy for Him to bear. For the weary, wounded and disappointed, there is rest. The world is teetering in a state of uncertainty and confusion, and in the midst of the turmoil. God offers us His peace and his rest.

McKay is preparing for a special digital release of the song in a couple of weeks.
