City Of Atlanta Honors Gospel Legend Dottie Peoples With Phoenix AwardGrammy ® Award-nominated, Dove, Stellar, GMWA, NAACP Image Award-Winning Singer DOTTIE PEOPLES was honored by the City of Atlanta on August 10 at WPZE 102.5 FM Praise In The Park 2013 where Dottie performed songs from her acclaimed new CD, I Got This – Live!

The Mayor’s Office presented Dottie with the Phoenix Award, which is the highest honor an individual or group can receive from the Mayor of Atlanta, recognizing outstanding achievements and service to the city, state, nation or world. On August 19, The City Council is recognizing Dottie by presenting her with a proclamation in honor of this anniversary.

“I am thrilled to be honored by the Mayor’s Office and City Council of Atlanta, and I continue thanking the Lord for His many blessings,” said Dottie. “Praise In The Park is always an incredible event to be a part of, and I want to thank Radio One for their continued love and support of my music.”

During WPZE 102.5 FM Praise In The Park 2013, Dottie sang four songs including her hit “I Got This” and her classic “On Time God.” The day included an autograph session after her performance and several interviews including one with Radio One’s nationally syndicated personality KD Bowe.

Recent Phoenix Award winners include individuals such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunnus, five-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Tyler Perry, WSB-TV Channel 2 journalist Monica Pearson and Turner Broadcasting System Chairman and CEO Philip Kent.
