Emmy Award-Winning Chrysler Choir Larry Callahan & Selected of God Receives Stellar Award Nomination

Emmy Award-Winning Chrysler Choir Larry Callahan & Selected of God Receives Stellar Award NominationBest known as the Emmy Award-winning Chrysler Choir, Larry Callahan & Selected of God received their very first Stellar Gospel Music Awards nomination for Contemporary Choir of the Year.

Their current album, The Evolution II, which peaked at #4 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart has remained in the Top 25 for more than a year. This week, the album moves to #11 and their current single, “Be Still and Know” is steadily climbing the Billboard Gospel chart. The 29th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The show will air in national syndication starting January 25, 2014 through March 2, 2014.

The three-time Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound Choir competition winners are currently featured in the new Chrysler Big Finish’s “Giving Back” commercial for the holiday season—airing thirty second spots on broadcast networks nationwide. The commercial features the hook of The Clark Sisters’ gospel classic “You Brought the Sunshine” which is performed by Callahan & Selected of God. The group was previously featured in six Chrysler commercials, including the Super Bowl XLV’s “Born of Fire— Imported from Detroit 200 Chrysler” with Eminem. (See video below).

Callahan & Selected of God and the Deaf Dynamic Praise Choir of San Francisco are also featured in the American Sign Language’s ground-breaking music video of “You Brought The Sunshine,” which premiered Thanksgiving Eve on the Word Network. The music video was part of a television special and inspired by The Clark Sisters’ #1 international mega hit song “You Brought the Sunshine.” The collaboration marks the first time that the gospel music industry and deaf and hard of hearing community has collaborated on such a powerful project.

The Deaf Dynamic Praise Choir was founded by Larry ‘Scooter’ Cotton Jr. and includes Tanisha Cotton, Don Espy Jr. and Cherie Espy. A YouTube sensation, they were brought together by their common faith; a love of gospel music and a desire to share their ministry with others within the deaf and hard of hearing community.
