Gospel Great Earnest Pugh Hospitalized

The EPM Music Group and P-Man Music Group would like to express sincere gratitude for the heartfelt prayers and messages of concern regarding the recent illness of gospel music singer Dr. Earnest Pugh.

While on a recent promotional tour, Dr. Pugh experienced a medical emergency resulting from food poisoning and dehydration after returning from international travels. Under the advice of highly capable physicians and Pugh’s management team, he is currently resting and undergoing treatment so that he can resume his travel schedule and continue to serve as Senior Worship Leader at Village of Faith Church in Richmond, VA.

Councilman Rev. Dr. Michael Jones, Senior Pastor of Village of Faith Church, said, “Dr. Pugh is always an intense worshipper. When we noticed a difference in his energy, we assumed it was simply due to his exhaustive travel schedule. We are prayerful for a speedy recovery and anticipate that he will be back on schedule soon.”

EarnestPugh_TuxPugh was slated to attend the 103rd Hampton University Ministers’ Conference in Hampton, VA, but his recent medical setback and clear need for rest prevented him from doing so. “I knew that I didn’t feel like myself while in Pine Buff, AR, last week, but I thought that I would be able to rest after the Ministers’ Conference and a Worship and Arts concert nearby in Newport News, VA. Unfortunately, I was unable to endure beyond the Sunday morning service at Village of Faith.”

Dr. Debra Huggins, Chaplain of Hampton University, prayed for Pugh during a recent service at the conference.

“I am so grateful to Dr. Debra Huggins for lifting up a such a powerful and spirit-led prayer. Every time I see it on social media, I feel God’s healing power and strength. People have been reaching out on social media and from across the globe, and I’m so humbled. I’m especially thankful to my Village of Faith family. Pastor Jones and Dr. Willard Maxwell have prayed for me and stayed in constant communication regarding my progress. It means the world to me.”

Pugh plans to reschedule the concert in Newport News, VA, and looks forward to returning to his travels and continuing to promote his latest single, “I Need To Breathe,” currently ranked 14th on Billboard Gospel Radio Chart.
