Move Over United Tenors, Melvin and Doug Williams Join Super-Group “5 GUYS” Featuring Wess Morgan, Shawn McLemore, and R&B Star Christopher Williams [EXCLUSIVE]

Move Over United Tenors, Melvin and Doug Williams Join Super-Group “5 GUYS” Featuring Wess Morgan, Shawn McLemore, and R&B Star Christopher Williams [EXCLUSIVE]PATH MEGAzine has learned that another male super-group is being formed featuring prominent Gospel singers. On the heels of Fred Hammond’s ‘United Tenors,’ a couple of the legendary Williams Brothers are hoping to reignite the urban quartet market once again with a fresh sound.

The group fittingly calls themselves “5 Guys,” and features brothers Doug and Melvin Williams of The Williams Brothers, Wess Morgan, Shawn McLemore, and R&B crooner Christopher Williams.

Shawn McLemore, exclusively told PATH MEGAzine, “You can expect praise and worship and some cross-over tunes, but what really makes the group unique is our individual testimonies.” “I’m dealing with the heart situation.. the heart attack, and how God delivered me out of that. And Christopher Williams who’s dealt with the drug situation, Wess Morgan who overcame crack cocaine, and how God survived him out of that, and then Melvin and Doug Williams going through their issues as brothers.” McLemore mentions to PATH publisher Kris Patrick that the group will make an appearance on TBN as early as June, adding, “This record is bound for greatness and bound to touch lives.”

Melvin Williams and Doug Williams and are no stranger to quartet music having been apart of the award winning group ‘The Williams Brothers.’ With recent solo efforts credited to Melvin. Soulfoul singer Pastor Wess Morgan went to the top of the Gospel Billboard chart with his smash hit ‘I Choose to Worship.’ Shawn McLemore has seen success as a solo artist, but is perhaps best known for lending the soaring vocals on James Fortunes’ hit ‘I Believe.’ Lastly, R&B singer Christopher Williams who is best known for his #1 hits in the 90’s ‘Every Little Thing You Do,’ ‘Promises, Promises,’ and the single ‘I’m Dreamin.’

One of the early producers working on the album is the highly sought after Stan Jones. Writers on board include Shawn McLemore, Doug Williams, and Marcus Cole.

If we learned anything from ‘The United Tenors,’ it’s that there is always red tape between the record labels to overcome. So we will keep you posted on new developments.

“5 Guys” are slated to release their first single this Summer, and the full album is tentatively scheduled for release before Christmas 2014.
