THE GOSPEL COMMUNITY HONORS NEW ORLEANS PRINCE OF GOSPEL, LYLE HENDERSON, FOR 24 YEARS AS A GOSPEL RADIO BROADCAST PERSONALITY

THE GOSPEL COMMUNITY HONORS NEW ORLEANS PRINCE OF GOSPEL, LYLE HENDERSON, FOR 24 YEARS AS A GOSPEL RADIO BROADCAST PERSONALITYSeveral New Orleans Gospel Recording Artists, musicians, vocalists, pastors, educators and event planners are joining together for one cause: to honor and offer musical tribute and encouragement to a public figure who has served the Gospel industry for nearly a quarter of a century.

HueDon Designs is bringing the Jazz and Gospel music community together to extend congratulatory honor to the legacy of Lyle Henderson in a musical tribute on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Beulah Baptist Church, 2921 Fourth Street in uptown New Orleans.

Lyle began a career briefly as an R&B DJ on New Orleans’ based FM98 and simultaneously 5 years as a Gospel radio personality in 1989 on WYLD Radio. He has been a member of the GMWA Gospel Announcers’ Guild and a member of the New Orleans Chapter for 24 years. His voice has remained in the New Orleans Gospel community for over 20 years, including his tenure at Praise FM 94.9 before the station changed from a Gospel music format. He has worked in both AM and FM radio on air and has developed many radio promotional campaigns over the years.

2007, he joined the DJ staff of Crescent City Radio, the online radio station owned by Loyola University New Orleans. He is host & producer of “The World of Gospel” – a Wednesday Gospel music show online, with a rapidly growing audience.

In 2001, members of the Louisiana and New Orleans media began to dub him as the NEW ORLEANS PRINCE OF GOSPEL. His work with various non-profit organizations, his service to the community, his determination to rebuild his family home in the Holy Cross Neighborhood in the New Orleans 9th Ward, and his will to show the world a better product of the Crescent City has placed him as an ambassador of his native city.

Following his moderately successful debut CD release, Lyle Henderson & Emmanu-EL, “I Cannot Go Back,” he has done multiple international tours (including a multi-city Italian Tour, dates in Switzerland, Canada and Jamaica), appeared with his special events choir, Pinnacle Gospel Choir, in 2 films and soundtracks, Disney’s Princess and the Frog and Black & White featuring Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer, and has been included in notable events hosted by the city of New Orleans such as with his Super Bowl XLVII performance.

He is also well respected in his home town of New Orleans,; a “staple” of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, he will perform for his 16th May 1, 2014.

Currently, Lyle is in the positioning himself to promote his new single, “Expectations” which is due for release on all digital media, including iTunes Spring 2014.
