Popular Pastor & Author Bill Winston Celebrates First Stellar Award Nomination For Church Choir’s Debut CD, Released

Pastor Bill Winston has empowered the Christian community with enlightening and life-changing sermons for years now.  The pastor of Chicago’s 20,000-member Living Word Christian Center is also known for his insightful books like the Law of Confession and Transform Your Thinking.  Now the renowned Pastor and his church choir are being recognized for accomplishments in the Gospel music industry.

The church’s first project, Bill Winston Presents Living Word: Released, featuring the talents of church members and award-winning artists such as Donald Lawrence, Kim Stratton and Walt Whitman, was nominated for a 2013 Stellar Gospel Music Award.  Known as gospel music’s highest honor, the live recording was nominated in the category of Traditional Choir of the Year.  Sharing the category with such other notable choirs as Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago, James Hall Worship & Praise and Richard Smallwood & Vision, this year’s category showcases the best choirs in the genre.  Winners of the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be announced on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.

Pastor Winston is thrilled about the nomination.  “I am honored that Living Word’s Recording Choir and I were named as a 2013 Stellar Award Nominee for Traditional Choir of the Year for our CD, Bill Winston Presents Living Word: Released,” says Winston.  “I am so grateful to the gifted musicians and singers at Living Word, especially Donald Lawrence, Kim Stratton, Walt Whitman and Ed Tucker, who blessed us during the live recording.  I believe there’s a powerful word of release for God’s people in this project and am pleased that people were moved to vote for us.”

Bill Winston is one of today’s most gifted speakers.  Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, he was mentored by educators, scientists, physicians and even the Tuskegee Airmen.  A former award-winning fighter pilot in the United States Air Force, Winston founded Living Word Christian Center, a multi-cultural, non-denominational church in 1985.  Since that time, the Forest Park, Illinois church has grown to over 20,000 members.  Winston is also the founder of the Tuskegee Christian Center, A Bible Training Center, a School of Ministry and Mission, the Living Word Christian Academy, The Faith Ministry Alliance and the Joseph Business School.  In addition to his international ministry which is distributed via radio, television, the Internet and crusades, he is the author of numerous books including The Law of Confession, Transform Your Thinking and Training for Reigning.  For more information, log on to www.billwinston.org.

3000 members of the Living Word Ministries probably wish they had missed a few of the “Make Money Now” prosperity sermons when they gave Bill Winston the millions needed for Covenant Bank. Recently Covenant Bank was seized by the FDIC for safety & soundness violations along with a continuing shortage of Capital. Bill was never able to keep qualified management or a diverse Board of Directors from the community. These stakeholders lost all of their funds in this Hubris episode of Knights of The Mystic Sea…an ole Amos & Andy story. If you were a depositor then your money was insured by the FDIC an as a friend of Bills you may have had his SAOS Plan (slick as owl shit) so your funds or checks were always cleared.
