National Recording Artist and Hit-Songwriter Branden Anderson returns with new dynamic single “Promise.”
After making the world dance with his breakout smash debut solo single “God Did It Again (Tell Somebody,”) we are now excited to experience a worship song from Branden.
Bringing life, hope, and encouragement, “Promise” is a reminder that everyone has a God-given purpose and assignment for their lives. All we have to do is Trust God and follow him and He will lead us to our promise.
Written by Branden Anderson along with hit producer Daniel Bryant (Tamela Mann, Chante Moore, Chris Brown,) “Promise” has heartwarming lyrics, beautiful vocal harmonies, and a powerful dynamic message that encourages everyone to chase after their “Promise” in life.
Branden talks about the origin of “Promise
“While recording my debut solo album, Daniel and I realized towards the end of the process that the album was missing a certain element. We needed a worship ballad that was passionate, heartfelt, and something that every single person could connect with.
Daniel asked me to go to my hotel room the next day and write from my heart, allowing God to speak to me. It wasn’t long after that when God poured into me. He allowed me to write from a foundational scripture that my mom always gave me which was Proverbs 3:5-6. It says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
God began to remind me of this journey that I was on and how it was prophesied over 20 years ago that while I had attained success with my group G.I., I would eventually go to another level as a solo artist. Back then it went over my head, but fast forward to the present-day, God brought it back to my remembrance.
God’s prophecy (which is a promise) was coming to pass before my very eyes. I was preparing to release my debut solo album! He began to give me the words: “Sometimes it seems I’ve lost my way and I don’t know what to do…”
We all have been lost on the journey that God gave us at some point and time, but the key is in the chorus which says, “I’ll trust you with all my heart and I won’t lean to my understanding.
I acknowledge you in all of my ways and I know you’ll show me the way to the promise. We all have a promise over our lives. We just have to trust God that He will lead us to it. This is definitely one of my favorites from the upcoming album.”
