Pastor and rising gospel artist Brandon Watts is preparing to release his powerful new single “Well Done” on May 16, offering a glimpse into his highly anticipated live album, REWIND: Live in Brooklyn, arriving June 13th via TRIBL Records—the groundbreaking label home to Maverick City Music.
The lead single “Well Done,” written by Watts and Matthias Patrick, is a mid-tempo groove infused with a “Brooklyn Bounce” that simultaneously takes the listener on a 90’s gospel ride, all while reminding them of the final two words we want God to say once it is all said and “Well Done.”
Recorded live in Brooklyn, REWIND is more than just an album—it’s a musical time capsule. With deep influences from 90s gospel legends like John P. Kee, Hezekiah Walker, and Ricky Dillard, the project revives the soul, energy, and choir-driven sound that defined a generation of church music. From layered harmonies to raw, spirit-filled arrangements, the album captures the essence of a gospel era that shaped the culture and brings it into conversation with today’s spiritual and sonic landscape.
“I’m beyond excited to help bring Brandon’s vision to life. This group’s talent and dedication are undeniable, and I know their music will inspire, uplift, and impact lives. I truly believe they are going to make waves in the Gospel community and beyond,” said Ron Hill, President of TRIBL Records.
Brandon Watts is lead pastor of Epiphany Brooklyn, one of the fastest-growing churches in the borough, where 92% of the congregation is in their 20s. His collective, Selah Sound, represents a new wave of gospel expression, marrying timeless praise with youthful passion and streetwise authenticity.
With this release, they aim to bridge the gap between generations, offering something nostalgic yet undeniably fresh, thus the moniker for this project, “Old school feel with a new school appeal.”
The official single release concert will take place in Brooklyn on Friday, May 16th, where fans and music lovers will gather to experience the energy of REWIND live. This event is poised to be more than a concert—it’s a cultural moment in the making.
