Over Mother’s Day weekend, gospel icon CeCe Winans hosted her annual Generations Live women’s conference, continuing a beloved tradition with a fresh sense of purpose.

Now held at the Curb Center on Belmont University’s campus in Nashville, Tennessee, the event saw a rise in attendance compared to last year. Despite the change in venue, the vibrant and uplifting spirit that has defined the conference since its inception remained as powerful as ever.
“With each stride as the women entered the doors, one could feel the determination and even desperation in getting to Generations Live.” According to Melissa Arnell, “each person filled with a different need and expectation was met with a moment of unified praise that exposed the intentionality of this conference.”
Throughout the conference, different elements appealed to each generation. Winans greeted the audience with her daughter standing beside her and her granddaughter on her hip. Their presence reminded every woman in that room that she had some generations standing with her while still bearing the weight of carrying others to the King.
Winans warned of the dangers of being lukewarm with God by sharing that the fence is deceptive because it gives the appearance of safety. The truth is the enemy owns the fence. Winans explained that the only way to fulfill our purpose in the kingdom of God is by being all in.
She declared, “True discipleship means doing God’s will. Partial love is actually Betrayal.”
This year’s speakers were CeCe Winans, Sheryl Brady, Shannon Smith, Priscilla Shirer, Tamara Bennett, Ashley Phillips, Rochelle T. Parks, and Jackie Hill Perry. Although each speaker brought their unique style when speaking to the thousands of women who were in attendance, they all spoke in one unified voice in their presentation.
Priscilla Shirer taught from Revelation 4. She reminded the audience that John was at Patmos, a difficult moment in life, as he looked through the open door to see a set and unmovable throne: “Not only is it set, but it isn’t unoccupied.”
Shannon Smith asked, “Will you be faithful to what’s in front of you?”
Other inspiring messages from the conference came from the following speakers:
- “You can’t be subconscious and God-conscious at the same time” – Pastor Sheryl Brady.
- “Stop trying, just surrender” – Ashley Phillips.
- Shannon Smith asked, “Will you be faithful to what’s in front of you?”
- Tamara Bennett shared, “I never let the devil see me sweat. I will bless the Lord at all times. I keep doing it until I confuse the devil.”
