This Christmas, Dr. David Jeremiah, founder and host of Turning Point Ministries, wants to reach the world with the hope of the Christmas story.
On Saturday, December 14, Turning Point Studios, the production company for Dr. Jeremiah’s Turning Point Ministries, is hosting Reach the World Day, an evangelistic outreach featuring the docudrama Why the Nativity?.
For one day, movie theaters, churches, small groups, and individual families worldwide will join together to share the transformative story of the birth of Jesus through Dr. Jeremiah’s film Why the Nativity?.
In the United States, Why the Nativity? will be released theatrically in 20 major cities, with additional showings in churches and homes nationwide. Internationally, Why the Nativity? will be released in 11 languages across theaters, churches, and homes on six continents and in 30 different countries.
Why the Nativity? is Dr. Jeremiah’s first feature-length docudrama. Originally premiering on Thanksgiving Day in 2022, it examines the most pivotal moment in human history by exploring questions, facts, and history seldom seen in traditional Nativity stories.
Through Why the Nativity? the message of “stable peace in an unstable world” reached 22 million online viewers and 8 million households through television outlets in both English and Spanish in its first year. Last year, the film was released in four additional languages—Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, and Telugu—reaching more than 300 million people.
This year, Dr. Jeremiah and Turning Point Productions want to reach 1 billion people with the hope of the Gospel. On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Turning Point hosted a Prayer Call for Reach the World Day.
Dr. Jeremiah, along with senior members of the Turning Point staff, joined thousands of participants to pray for the cities, churches, and individuals participating in Reach the World Day. But they didn’t end the call to pray with Reach the World Day. They also prayed for the individuals on the call who submitted a personal prayer request.
After the call, Dr. Jeremiah said, “What we do today can impact eternity. Each of us is called to take the Gospel to the world. We may do it in different ways and avenues, but it should be the shared goal of every Christian. What an opportunity we had with that Prayer Call and with Reach the World Day. My prayer is that we will capture the hearts of people through our Christmas programming and keep them engaged with the Bible all year long.”
Reach the World Day is an evangelist outreach opportunity to share the enduring hope that Christmas brings to a weary world. All showings and additional resources provided through Reach the World Day are free.
