This week rapper Lecrae has shocked the world by not only debuting on top of the Christian/Gospel chart, but also on top of the secular Billboard Top 200. Only a handful of Christian Contemporary artists have ever achieved this, and no Gospel artist has ever outsold the music industry debuting #1 in the top 200 until now. The album sold 88,000 copies in it’s first week, trumping his 2012 ‘Gravity’ release where he debuted first weeks sales of 72,000 copies.
Coming in second this week is former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams. Her first weeks sales marked a respectable debut for her album ‘Journey to Freedom.’
The Walls Group falls out of the top spot to #3 this week with their debut album ‘Fast Forward.’
And congratulations to music legend Gladys Knight who debuted her new Gospel effort at #8.
Falling out of the top 10 is Earnest Pugh’s EP, The Best of Deitrick Haddon, Ricky Dillard, and Derrick Doc Pearson.
