Sunday JAPAN DAY @ CENTRAL PARK takes place throughout Central Park all day beginning 10am until 5p. There will be great cultural events particular and diverse to Japan that welcomes everyone to participate and enjoy. It’s FREE all day. All ages, family can come out and enjoy food, fun, art, contests, and great music.
MRS. PHYLISS MCKOY JOUBERT has been renowned around the world for many years in touring a highly specialized repertoire in Germany, France, England, Japan and most of the European union. Her main concept known as THE GLORY GOSPEL SINGERS, under the Direction of Mrs. Joubert will be a special feature for this Seventh Annual Japan Day 2013. An electrifying community of professional gospel singers, you will truly be blessed.
The Glory Gospel Singers were privileged to record a gospel arrangement (arranged by Mrs. Joubert) of specially chosen Ghibli Masters Anime Songs. This highly acclaimed project took off in Japan on tour, selling out prior to the tours end. It is titled: “ Tenshi Ni Anime Song Wo” and distributed throughout Japan today.
Mrs. Joubert’s prior feature arrangement of The William Tell Overture with sacred lyrics is still a phenomenon today. She has also completed a newly sold out 12 song arrangement for the popular Japanese Artist Mariya Takeuchi called Manhattan Kiss.
For this upcoming Sunday between 1 and 3pm, you will witness great gospel singers (Sharon Williams, Aaron Adams, Maurice Foreman, LaKeia Shaneen Perkins, Angele Joubert Johnson, Nichele Mungo, Terelle Tipton), singing in Japanese all the way through Mrs. Joubert’s Performance with a strong gospel flavor “Country Road”, “Princess Mononoke” “Laputa from Castle in the Sky”, “Totoro” and more. Mrs. Joubert’s special arrangement of “Ponyo” yielded over 400,000 views on You tube and still viewing today.
