The 26th annual Soul Train Awards aired on BET Sunday night (December 1st), and Gospel artist Tye Tribbett earned his first Soul Train Award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance for his hit single, “If He Did It Before (Same God)”.
Tribbett beat out Tasha Cobbs, Lecrae, Hezekiah Walker, Shirley Caesar, and John P. Kee for the award.
On his win, Tribbett shared:
It’s always an honor to be recognized for the hard work you do. The feeling is so rewarding and even more rewarding is the reason why I’m doing this in the first place. It’s my extreme honor to represent Christ in music. I’m grateful and honored Soul Train. Thank you!
Kelvin Leach, Tribbett’s manager and CEO/President of Lox Entertainment Agency explained:
Tye Tribbett has always been viewed as an innovator and trend setter. His “Greater Than” project is an impactful body of music that will continue to change/stretch the music industry for years to come.
