After a decade-long hiatus from the EP format and a life-altering spiritual transformation, powerhouse vocalist and worship leader Honey Ribar is set to release her highly anticipated project, No God Beside You.
While she has reintroduced herself to listeners through powerful Christian singles, this collection serves as her first comprehensive body of work in the genre, capturing a year of meticulous preparation and a lifetime of finding her way back to the Father. The EP is set to officially drop at 11:00 PM on Thursday, February 26th, leading into a full release on Friday, February 27th.
For years, Honey Ribar was a name synonymous with the high-octane world of pop and theater, performing at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and Hotel Cafe. However, behind the “polished product” of her early career was a silent battle with addiction, eating disorders, and the crushing weight of performance-driven worth. In 2020, Honey reached a breaking point that became her divine redirection.
Choosing sobriety and surrendering her life to Christ, she moved away from chasing industry validation and toward a calling of worship. She spent a decade building her own kingdom, and she views this EP as the sound of laying those bricks down to build something for God instead. While she has spent the last year waiting for the perfect moment to fully release this project to the world, more importantly, it took ten years of life to finally have something this honest to say.
Co-written and produced by Honey Ribar and Josh Zegan (aka yesh), the heart of the EP is a sonic pilgrimage that explores the raw, transformative peace found only in the Holy Spirit. The project opens with “No One,” a declaration of the singular place God holds in a restored heart, followed by the soaring title track, “No God Beside You,” which serves as a literal prayer of surrender born from post-recovery reflection.
The journey continues with “Endless,” a tribute to the nature of God’s grace, and “Child of God,” a powerful anthem of identity that rejects old labels of “addict” or “failure” in favor of being found in Jesus. Finally, the project concludes with “Only What You Want,” a vulnerable closing of the door on personal ego, asking only for His will to be done.
No God Beside You is more than just a collection of songs; it is a milestone. It marks the first time in ten years that Honey has released a cohesive body of work, and it is a defining moment in her evolution as a Christian artist. It is an invitation to anyone sitting in the “back pew” or trapped in the shadows of addiction to see that there is joy, stability, and a new name waiting on the other side of surrender.
