The Joy Boyz, led by brothers Donnie and the late Darryl Frierson, have become a powerhouse in Gospel music, captivating audiences for over four decades with their soul-stirring voices and heartfelt ministry.
Launching their career in 1982 under the mentorship of the legendary Willie Neal Johnson of The Gospel Keynotes, The Joy Boyz quickly rose to prominence, touring nationwide and sharing the stage with gospel greats.
The Joy Boyz catalog of albums includes THANK YOU (1993), I WANT TO BE READY (1998), TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED (2000), and PRESSING (2008). They have added the new single, “Will You Be Ready,” to their repertoire of music and are dedicating it in honor of the legacy of Pastor Darryl Frierson, as his memory lives on through the Joy Boyz music.
“Will You Be Ready” is now available on all digital music outlets and is being played on Gospel radio stations across the country. The Joy Boyz released the single via their independent label J Sound Records. “Will You Be Ready” is written by Kenyon Garrett and produced by Donnie Frierson, Chris Carr, and Jonathan Winstead.
Brothers Donnie and Darryl are sometimes referred to as “The Smallest Men in Gospel” or “The Small Men with Big Voices” for good measure. From humble beginnings to national recognition, their unapologetically big sound and dynamic performances represent their journey of faith and perseverance. Their music serves as a ministry that continues to inspire and uplift generations after generation.
