Very few individuals have developed a career profile that includes producer, songwriter, internationally touring recording artist, radio and TV personality, choir director, executive music minister, vocal arranger, record label executive, mentor, ministry consultant, author, and Gospel industry leader.
One of those few is Dr. Earl Bynum. His multifaceted business savviness, creative excellence, and prolific aptitude have set him apart as the top of Gospel and Christian music, media, and ministry.
Bynum has dedicated himself to his craft and to preserving and nurturing the continual growth of the Gospel industry through music and media. He is celebrating his 35-year career in music, ministry, and media. This year marks 20 years of his radio show, “On Stage With Earl Bynum”, and 15 years in syndication across over 45 markets. He launched his popular show in 2005 at Musical Soulfood 100.9 FM, WFMI.
“My radio career began 25 years ago as the late-night personality on WBXB 100.1 FM in Edenton, NC,” Bynum shares. “Back then, I held my FCC license and drove 110 miles round-trip daily just to be on the air. It was a beautiful start.”
He continues, “In the early days, I produced the show myself until Ray Pope came on board in 2007 as co-host and producer, which brought some incredible growth and memorable moments. By 2009, I became syndicated and soon added a co-host, Stellar Award-winning artist Lucinda Moore.”
On Stage With Earl Bynum Radio Show today is produced by veteran and award-winning radio professional Cedric Bailey. Bynum serves as the sole host and remains deeply committed to creating a platform where INDIE artists can be heard worldwide. His show airs every Saturday from 10am–12pm EST across the country, via Rejoice Networks, the leading urban inspirational radio firm in the USA, whose owner and president is Mike Chandler. Bynum’s show is also heard on Sundays in South Bend, IN, on WUBU 102.3 FM.
“I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Mike Chandler for believing in me and giving me this global opportunity,” says Bynum. “His vision through Musical Soulfood, now known as Rejoice Networks, helped position my show within a professional broadcast and digital marketing company that serves such a powerful niche audience.”
Bynum’s work in radio reflects his legacy and continual vision to see Gospel music and media thrive. His innovative mindset, his team, the radio stations that broadcast the show, and his growing, faithful audience are the village that keeps the show soaring across the airwaves.
Bynum’s industry leadership beyond his radio show is an example of integrity and exemplary vision. He is the national chairman of The GMWA Alliance of Gospel Music Professionals (GAG), and the executive advisor of The Tidewater Chapter of GMWA. He is the Eastern Regional Chair of The National Association of Gospel Radio (NAGR), the executive vice president of The Gospel Industry Network (The G.I.N.), and the founder and owner of a growing record label Lrae Entertainment®️. Additionally, he authored his first book, STILL STANDING: 30 Days Of Strength When Life Hits Hard, and is the Executive Director of Music at The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches, which comprises of seven campuses.
