Malik Oliver is a Gospel singer with a prophetic voice for this generation. His rich vocal timbre is deeply rooted in the church and shaped by Gospel legends, but he boldly infuses it with contemporary and innovative styles.
Malik made his solo debut with the single “I Need You,” produced by Dulaneyland Music, and followed up with his album SHIFT in 2023 via MNRK Records. He has now released his first holiday single, “This Christmas.”
Malik’s rendition of one of the most beloved contemporary holiday songs is an Afro-beats-inspired, good-vibes version of Donny Hathaway’s 1970s soulful classic. Malik takes you on an uplifting journey of holiday nostalgia and joy wrapped in an uptempo track that inspires a fellowship of groove.
“This Christmas is a song that means a lot to me,” says Malik. “I chose this song because Christmas has always been a time where love, family, and faith collide in a special way. I wanted to capture that joy and nostalgia, but also remind people what matters most — being present with the ones you love and reflecting on God’s goodness.”
Listen To “This Christmas”
“This Christmas” encourages us to have and remember our very special Christmas moments. “One of my favorite Christmas memories growing up was waking up to music in the house, good food warming in the kitchen, and my family laughing about nothing at all,” Malik shares. “We didn’t have everything, but we had each other, and that was enough. That’s the feeling I want this record to give people.”
“This Christmas” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and all digital music outlets. Add his single to your holiday playlist! You can also catch Malik performing another holiday favorite, “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas,” on Atlanta Live TV. Watch his performance here on WATC TV 57 YouTube.
In November, Malik recorded THE FIGHT album, which will be released next year. He is also the Worship Director at Impact Church DFW, where he leads worship with excellence, creativity, and with spirit-led authenticity. Whether in the studio, on stage, or in the sanctuary, Malik Oliver is on divine assignment to recenter Jesus at the heart of everything and disrupt the ordinary with glory.
