Sharonda Kay Mitchell Unveils Debut Single ‘I Am Healed’

Sharonda Kay Mitchell Unveils Debut Single ‘I Am Healed’

Seasoned gospel vocalist Sharonda Kay Mitchell, who has shared the stage with top artists like Smokie Norful and Sherri Jones-Moffet, is now sharing her own powerful message of hope.

During a life-changing cancer diagnosis, Mitchell began recording songs in her voice notes to find strength. One of those songs, “I Am Healed,” was born from that challenging time.

The song is a testament to Mitchell’s unwavering faith, offering a powerful reminder of God’s healing power. With heartfelt lyrics and an inspiring message, “I Am Healed” encourages believers to trust in God’s ability to heal and restore.

Take a listen to this uplifting anthem today and experience the strength it brings.

Sharonda Kay Mitchell is a Memphis native whose life and sound are deeply rooted in gospel, church, and the healing power of testimony. Raised in a musical family and shaped by her mother’s steadfast faith, Sharonda has always known music as ministry. But her debut project wasn’t born from dreams alone, it was birthed through battle.

In 2024, Sharonda was diagnosed with cancer—no warning, no prior illness, no genetic markers. Out of nowhere, her world shifted. Yet in the middle of appointments, uncertainty, and pain, she found strength by recording raw, real-time songs on her phone—right there in the halls of West Cancer Center. Those voice notes became anthems of survival, and ultimately her debut album: VoiceNotes: I Am Healed.

The lead single, “I Am Healed,” is not just a song—it’s a declaration. A spiritual battle cry. A win-win reminder for anyone in the fight of their life: with God, even your struggle works in your favor. Sharonda sings what she’s lived—not a concept, but a reality. Her sound blends worshipful ballads, contemporary gospel, and that undeniable churchy fire, shaped by gospel greats like Karen Clark Sheard, The Clark Sisters, CeCe Winans, Maurette Brown Clark, Mary Mary, Smokie Norful, and The Pace Sisters.

Sharonda’s journey has taken her from local pews to global stages, including a decade touring with Pastor Smokie Norful and background vocals for Sheri Jones-Moffett, whom she calls divine connections/mentors. Today, she pours that same encouragement into her nonprofit, Perfecting Gifts, which nurtures young artists in a faith-filled environment. She also serves her Memphis community with her husband and pastor at Perfecting Love Community Church, where their family continues to shine with God’s glory despite trials.

Though Sharonda has no label, no PR team, and no big platform behind her, she says it plainly:

“I don’t have industry backing right now, but I do have a God who still opens windows and pours out blessings.”

This project is proof that bad news can still produce good fruit. That pain doesn’t confuse God—He’s never surprised by our trials, and He never wastes them. While we weep in waiting rooms, He’s already working behind the scenes, writing a greater testimony. What once broke her down now builds others up.

Sharonda went from whispers of worry in hospital halls to worship in studio booths, and every lyric bears witness to a God who knows the end from the beginning—and still chooses to heal in the middle.

This isn’t just music. This is what purpose sounds like when pain gets processed in God’s presence.
