Mena Massoud, who gained worldwide acclaim playing the title character in Disney’s live-action Aladdin, is set to star in the lead role in an upcoming epic theatrical biblical drama, DANIEL.
Aladdin grossed over $1 Billion at the global box office. Massoud was nominated for Best Actor at the National Film and TV Awards, and won Breakthrough Talent at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, following the release.
Inspired by this Bible prophet’s extraordinary life, DANIEL is a sweeping cinematic look at one of history’s most powerful and compelling stories of faith, courage, and resilience. Best known for his unwavering trust in God, the film chronicles Daniel’s rise from lowly exile to chief royal advisor.
“Mena, whose charisma and emotional depth has captivated movie audiences worldwide, brings both strength and soul to the role of Daniel,” say co-directors The Kooman Brothers (Daniel and Matthew). “DANIEL is a timeless story of conviction under pressure, and we cannot imagine a better actor to embody Daniel than Mena.”
Born in Egypt, Massoud emigrated to Canada with his parents at a young age. He was appointed an ambassador by Egypt’s Ministry of Migration for their Speak Egyptian initiative.
The Kooman Brothers are award-winning indie filmmakers known for inspiring, faith-driven stories including Breath Of Life and She Has A Name. They are partnering with veteran producer Travis Mann.
