BET Reportedly Cancels the Mo’Nique Show!
Without an official announcement word is circulating fast that BET has cancelled The Mo’Nique Show. We’re not sure what to make of this one as the show wasn’t cancelled due to it’s low ratings, it is one of the highest rated shows on BET. The cancellation reportedly stems from personality disputes between Mo’Nique and BET execs.
A source familiar with the situation tells PATH that they were told they were on extended hiatus after taping this years season finale. New pre-taped episodes of the show will air throughout the month of August. They were not told that the show was cancelled says the source.
Long term friend of PATH’s and one of the writer/producers on the Monique Show Comedian Akintunde said “he didn’t know,” and had no comment when pressed about the issue.
“Save the Mo’Nique Show” facebook campaigns have already been kicked off on various group pages. If this is true I think it’s a disappointment to say the least. Monique was putting many Gospel artists out on her platform, and Gospel music was able to reach a mainstream audience.
Mo’Nique is set to star in Bumped currently in pre-production.
Comedian Akintunde is currently prepping a syndicated radio show that will air across the country, and looks forward to hopefully returning to the Mo’Nique Show.

PATH to Premiere Shirley Murdock’s New Gospel Music Video “Dream” Thursday, July 28th
On Thursday, July 28th, Tyscot Music and Entertainment will premiere Shirley Murdock’s new gospel video “Dream” on pathmagazine.com
The radio single recently premiered on the Nationally Syndicated “CoCo Brother Live” Radio Program. Dream is written by Shirley along with her husband Dale DeGroat and esteemed evangelist Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Murdock expressed her thoughts about the song, “The song is anointed because it’s full of the word,” Murdock says of the inspiring ballad of hope and perseverance. “It’s like the voice of God speaking directly to your spirit, reminding you, that He’s not a man that He should lie…if He spoke it, will He not do it? This song will stir up and rekindle that word, that’s been spoken into your spirit and remind you that your dream can not…will not die.”
The Dream video is one of many visual moments captured on Shirley’s first “Live” DVD. Murdock fans will not only receive an inspiring message, but they will view Shirley at her best.
Both Murdock and Tyscot Music and Entertainment are excited about the premiere and grateful for all the support received in making this possible.
The “Dream” video will premiere on Thursday, July 28th at 10am EST on pathmagazine.com.
