Let Go & Let GOD

God has already forgiven us. He has given us the Band-Aid to cover the wound but we fail to apply it because we feel like we have done too awful to deserve to even be healed. Are there any real people reading this? As long as we keep our wound exposed, people can affect you, they can constantly remind you of what you used to be and what you used to do and they can pour salt into your wound and in fact they can even advance the initial infection. Understand this, when you come to Christ, there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1), so stop beating yourself up about not being worthy enough because even without the mistake, you still aren't worthy enough. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The same people who are talking about you, they too have fallen. They may have not bungee jumped but it does not matter because sin is sin. Forgive yourself, realize that you are worth it, not because of anything you did but because God says so. After you have identified the issue and forgiven yourself, it is MOST important that you make sure you repent. Repentance is not asking for forgiveness, repentance is the act of turning away. What good is it to call the police on an abusive spouse, and then stay with them? Logic says that they are going to probably come back with a greater vengeance when they get released from prison and it will only get worse. When you made the statement that you wanted to be free, you bound up that issue but because you did not leave, because you did not turn away from the issue, you give it the ability to come back into your life. Understand that once we forgive ourselves, let the issue go and repent.  We are then at a place where God can use us. Many of us hold and harbor so much, so many times, that we are spiritually paraplegic. We have the gift, even the anointing, but the fact that we close our hands around the issues and grasp them; it means that we are not able to lay hold of what God has for us. In order to be able to grab something, your hands have to be empty. Your hands have to be free! They have got to stop working to form their own devices for success!

See we not only need to let go of our issues but we need to let go of our wills. So many of us are holding on to what we want to do that we are not laying hold of what God wants us to do and we keep wondering why we can't move. Well, plain and simple, if God is not in it, it won't succeed. God is throwing out this lifeline and you are trying to get a hold of it but you are so busy trying to maneuver around your man-made handicap that you are complaining that it is too hard. Then, when you do manage your way on the saver, it gets so uncomfortable that you slip and you have two options, falling to a place that was lower than where you started or freeing your hands of your will, your issues, your problems and fully grabbing hold to Jesus. Let it go, it is time for God to use you. Stop trying to fix it. What’s done is done. Forgive yourself and move on and for the people who are in the latter of the article, your "will" will not override God's, so either get in his or be ready to hit the water real soon.

Bishop Noel Jones Tops Charts

The strategic collaboration of Alpha Dog and Tyscot Records has garnered a historical #1 debut on the Billboard Gospel Charts.

Tyscot Records celebrates its first #1 album debut in the 31 year history of the longest running independent Gospel label in the country as Bishop Jones and his church choir rejoice for charting at number 1 with their first CD.

The forecast for the project looked promising well before its June 26 release.  Bryant Scott, Tyscot President stated online sales for Welcome to the City were at a record 15 times more that any other new project they have touched. That includes works by John P. Kee, the Anointed Pace Sisters, Deitrick Haddon and other top names in gospel.

"This is exciting because this is Bishop Jones' first release and not many artists have a #1 debut on their first project," says Bryant Scott – President, Tyscot Records. "We are very proud of this CD, which is in stores and online everywhere, along with the exclusive two-disc DigiPak version sold exclusively at Wal-mart and walmart.com."

A grand album release concert was held at the Gardena, CA sanctuary on the Sunday before the album release which featured a pre-recorded congratulatory message from Diddy, who is a member of the 20,000 City of Refuge.

Still climbing the Radio & Records charts is the lead off single "Not About Us" produced by Gerald Haddon.

NO MEGAFEST 2008

Bishop T.D. Jakes' MegaFest, which many consider to be his signature event, is getting shelved for a second year. The Bishop has decided to focus his efforts on conferences such as For Ladies Only, For Men Only, etc. His explanation for the decision is below.

"After much thought and consideration, we have decided not to host MegaFest in 2008. The Potter's House will revisit the idea of hosting MegaFest in future years and will announce that decision publicly, once made. The Potter's House has immensely enjoyed the popular event and we are overwhelmed with the support and interest that we have received in Atlanta as well as nationally, regarding MegaFest.

At this point and time, we have decided to focus our efforts on our other events such as For Ladies Only, For Men Only, The Pastors' and Leadership Conference and our Faith for Africa missionary efforts, to name a few.

I would like to emphasize that the ministry's decision does not in any way reflect negatively on Atlanta. Mayor Shirley Franklin and the citizens of Atlanta, as well as the city's government including the Georgia Dome, Georgia World Congress Center, Philips Arena, the Convention and Visitors Bureau officials, hotels and restaurants have all gone beyond our most ambitious expectations as they made our conference attendees feel welcomed and their presence appreciated. On behalf of The Potter's House church family, our partners, and friends, we extend our sincerest gratitude to the great city of Atlanta.

The Potter's House is focused on and committed to providing our members and those that attend our events with a thought-provoking, moving, meaningful and spiritually based experience. We will continue to look at our events to ensure they accomplish these goals."

Fight For Christians in Korea

PYONGYANG, North Korea – The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM), an international organization that assists persecuted Christians around the world, today launched a worldwide campaign to free a North Korean man awaiting public execution for the crime of simply being a Christian.

For more than a year, Son Jong Nam, former North Korean Army officer turned underground evangelist, has been beaten, tortured and held in a bleak, North Korean death row basement jail in this capital city. He has been sentenced to public execution as an example to the North Korean people.

VOM has been joined in the initiative by U.S. Senator and presidential candidate Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), a noted supporter of human rights for North Korean refugees. Brownback sent letters last week, also signed by Senators Baucus (D-Mont.), Durbin (D-Ill.), Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Vitter (R-La.), asking U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to work to secure the release of the Christian prisoner.

VOM is calling on people in the United States and around the world to write letters and send emails on Son Jong Nam’s behalf. They are directed to go to VOM web site www.prisoneralert.com, where they can compose a personal letter of support and encouragement to Son. The letter is to be mailed to the North Korean delegation to the United Nations, along with a cover letter asking the North Korean government to spare Son’s life, release him from prison immediately, report on his current status and deliver the personal letter to Son.

In addition, people are encouraged to send emails to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights and the U.S. Department of State, asking that they intervene on Son’s behalf.

“We are asking for prayers for Mr. Son, but also that people around the world take action on his behalf,” said Todd Nettleton, director of media development for VOM. “Jesus said ministering to a prisoner was like ministering to Himself. Every letter and email can make a difference.”

In his letters to Secretary of State Rice and Secretary General Ban, Sen. Brownback wrote: “Future cooperation and engagement with North Korea will be far more challenging if its leaders continue to persecute their own people for religious views. The United States has made political and religious freedoms important elements in its diplomatic relations, and we are gravely concerned about abuses of such basic rights in North Korea.”

Some years ago Son complained to the North Korean Central People’s Committee when his wife, while being investigated by the secret police, was kicked in the stomach and miscarried. He made plans to leave North Korea after being pressured to drop the matter.

Son defected to China in 1998 with his wife, son and brother. His wife died after arriving there. It was in China that he met a South Korean missionary and became a Christian. Mr. Son continued his religious studies and felt called to be an evangelist in North Korea.

But before he could return home, Son was arrested by Chinese police in 2001 and sent back to North Korea, charged with sending missionaries into his native country. He was imprisoned and brutally tortured for three years. Many of his 200 fellow inmates were Christians, imprisoned themselves for studying theology in China. Many died within six months.

Son was released on parole in May 2004 and expelled from Pyongyang to Chongjin to work at a rocket research institute. However, his health was so bad when he was released that he was unable to walk. But after receiving medical treatment, he went back to China to meet with his brother.

Son was arrested again when he returned to North Korea in January 2006, and has remained in prison since. The last word of him came in February. It is suspected that because he is being kept in the capitol city, North Korean officials view him as a special case and perhaps are keeping him alive, if barely, for unknown reasons.

According to Nettleton, North Korea, a one-man dictatorship with communist influence, is one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world and denies every kind of human right to its citizens. The country’s previous leader, Kim Il Sung, founded an ideology called “juche,” meaning “self-reliance,” which is enforced in every aspect of the culture by the ruling elite. Kim Jong Il, the son of deceased leader Kim Il Sung, currently leads the country. In North Korea, both Kims are considered deities.

“All religions have been harshly repressed in North Korea,” said Nettleton. “Thousands of Christians have been murdered since the Korean War. In 1953, there were an estimated 300,000 Christians; however, the number is much lower today. Christians must practice their faith in deep secrecy and are in constant danger.”

There are three official churches in North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang, said Nettleton, but they are only for show. Many North Koreans have fled to China, some of them Christians, and have been known to return to North Korea to share the gospel, he said.

“Any North Korean sent back by the Chinese government faces almost certain death if it is discovered they’ve had contact with Christians in China,” Nettleton said.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) issued a report June 19 accusing North Korea of international crimes against humanity, and recommended the United Nations establish a commission of inquiry. The report said a “prima facie” case exists that North Korea has committed “murder, extermination, enslavement/forced persecution, enforced disappearance of persons, other inhumane acts and perhaps rape and sexual violence.”

VOM has been launching helium-filled balloons, printed with either the Gospel of Mark or the text of a tract called “How to Know God” into North Korea for years, said Nettleton. They also smuggle in copies of an audio drama called “He Lived Among Us” and have sent copies of The New Testament in Korean to northern China through a VOM program called “Bibles Unbound” (www.biblesunbound.com).

The Voice of the Martyrs (www.persecution.com), headquartered in Bartlesville, Okla., is a non-profit, interdenominational organization with a vision for aiding Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ, fulfilling the “Great Commission” and educating the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians.

Mississippi Mass Choir CD

The Mississippi Mass Choir (MMC) has been referenced in a PBS Special, invited to sing before the President of the U.S. and the Pope, and won multiple awards (including 11 Stellars and a Grammy), but the nearly 20-year old group has never recorded a Christmas album.

In advance preparation for the holiday season ahead, MMC will tape its first sacred seasonal recording "We Have Seen His Star" live on June 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Word of Faith Christian Church in Jackson, MS.

The tradition of pouring out well-respected, spiritually uplifting music began in 1989 when the group's debut self-titled album entered the Billboard charts at the number 1 slot just 5 weeks after its release and held the #1 position for 45 weeks.

The late Frank Williams who founded MMS simply envisioned capturing "the great soulful voices of gospel music in Mississippi" and the choir has become the most successful gospel choir of our time.

The free recording will be held at 4890 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, MS, 39209.

Paula White Missionary Work

In keeping with her mission to transform lives, heal hearts, and win souls, Pastor Paula White of Paula White Ministries (PWM) has partnered with Master's Touch Ministries Global to provide humanitarian relief and the Gospel message to impoverished countries located within the "10/40 Window," a rectangular region that spans across countries from western Africa to eastern Asia, and is home to over 82% of the world's poorest people.

While every major non-Christian religion is headquartered in the 10/40 Window – Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and a variety of indigenous religions, as well as millions of people whose beliefs are unaccounted for – most of the people in this region will never have a chance to hear the Gospel without missionary intercession.

"With PWM's support," says Dr. Bailey, "we can provide clean water to villages…educate our Palestinian children in the Jordan refugee camps…provide humanitarian relief for the refugees of Western Sahara who have been stranded in the scorching desert for several years…these are just a few examples of some of the outreaches that MTM is committed to."

Additionally, PWM's support enables MTM to continue to train world-wide leaders for Christ through its Global Impact Leadership Training Center, which offers an on-site six-month intensive training program designed to "equip stateside leaders and foreign nationals in Apostolic Missions by using a 'hands-on' and 'how-to' training method," says Dr. Bailey. "Students learn 21st century strategies for global and local outreach from the leading apostolic generals in our time."

Christian College – Online Degree

Belhaven College, a Christian Liberal Arts College in Jackson, Miss., has launched its new Virtual Online Education Program to help students all over the world receive a Christ-centered education.

The Belhaven Virtual Online Education Program is an accelerated program that offers a Bachelor of Science in Management and an Associate of Arts, which allows students to complete the Bachelor of Science program in less than four years. Classes are also available for home-schooled high school students who want to enhance their education or be dually enrolled in college without being on campus.

"Belhaven's program is unique among higher education distance learning courses because students also participate in a weekly real-time, online web cam class with professors and other students," said Provost Dr. Dan Fredericks. "This allows students to stay connected and motivated, reducing the traditionally high drop-out rates experienced by other online college programs."

Dr. Roger Parrott, college president, said, "the Virtual Online Education Program equips Christians both academically and spiritually for positions in mission, ministry or business." He adds that the Virtual Online Education Program combines Belhaven's 15 years of adult education success with a strong commitment to using virtual technology to meet the needs of students who are increasingly seeking online education.

Belhaven College has branch campuses in Houston, Orlando and Memphis, and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. Credits earned through the Belhaven Virtual Online Program are transferable. For more information, go to www.belhaven.edu or email virtualadmission@belhaven.edu.

Achieving Your Purpose

Achieving Your Purpose – By the Producer of the Path MEGAzine

The secret to achieving goals in theory is simple. It’s believing that you can accomplish them. Then you step out on faith, believing God will provide you with the tools necessary to complete each task. The tools could be money, or just people you need to cross paths with in order to complete the vision. In my career, the first thing I had to understand was that the vision was not mine. One day it hit me. All the trials it took to get where I am now, were stepping stones ordered by God. He allowed me to taste success, and then taste failure. He allowed me to get scammed, and then learn how to prevent such re-occurrences. The journey to achievement is a long, winding, up and down path. There will be caution signs, speed bumps, roadblocks, and even detours. Ultimately, if you stay the course and believe you will arrive at that goal.

I struggled for years to find my path and purpose for my life. When I found it, I was soon woke up out of bed to start a magazine centered on Path and purpose. I wrote all the way through that night tirelessly, until I had completed a 5-page business pitch. Unlike my first business, I didn’t question God. I stopped asking for courage confirmations from friends and family. I then started with “baby goals,” which would help me accomplish the vision. Completing the baby goals gave me strength, and energized me to finish. I humbly started with a video production company (Parallel Path Entertainment LLC), and two years later I would spin off a video magazine. This publication stands as the first of its kind secular or Gospel, but the key was all in believing. This is why I say believing is the key. Believing God in leading you along your path. Believing in yourself. Taking action and setting achievable goals that accomplish big dreams.

Achievement eventually leads to being successful. However, I’ve

"I think not moving when the Lord moves you, gives birth to fear and immobilization."

learned that not everybody has the same definition of success. Your idea of success may be contingent upon a yearly quota. Someone else’s success may be simply getting paid to do what they love to do. Inevitably, when you follow the path intended for your life, you keep re-defining your goals. Which propels you to higher and higher heights. When you’re not in your purpose it’s hard to be motivated to achieve. You will soon stop dreaming and setting goals. This will soon lead to complacency, and ultimately immobilization. “Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves – regret for the past and fear of the future.”- (Fulton Oursler) I think not moving when the Lord moves you, gives birth to fear and immobilization. Don’t be afraid to move! You know what burns you. What your passionate about. Let God stir up the gift. You don’t need a million confirmations and prophecies. If God said it that settles it. Period! If you can’t hear from God, change what you’re doing that is clogging up the lines of communication. Change the worldly ideas you have of success. They feed into your psyche. God is all you need. Then you will hear him. Then you’re on the path to achieve. God Bless and Stay on the Path.
