EMI Gospel Announces Deal With Karew Records

EMI Gospel has entered into a long-term distribution deal with Karew Records, the new imprint of legendary recording artist Karen Clark-Sheard. Karew Records creates the opportunity for Sheard and her sisters The Clark Sisters to own their masters and gain greater creative control over their future careers. Sheard serves as President of the label and has named Darrell Thompson as General Manager, Cynthia Ellis as VP of Marketing & Promotions, and J. Drew Sheard II as A&R. Sheard’s next solo effort will be the first project released on the label later this year. In addition, the label will release a new Christmas effort titled Clark Family Christmas due in October and a new Clark Sisters release in early 2010.
