Congratulations to Kierra Sheard, who debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart this week with her new album, Free. She also landed at #40 on the Billboard 200! This is her first #1 debut since her 2006 This Is Me album.
Also debuting in the top 5 this week is Micah Stampley’s latest project, One Voice.
There seems to be a noticeable shift happening in Gospel music as no traditional Gospel artists are represented in the Top 10. The top 10 is comprised of some of the best in Urban Gospel and Gospel Rap. Personally I’m happy that these genres are getting airtime and sales!

Next week it will be interesting to see if Le’Andria Johnson will rebound back to her number 1 spot. I’m glad to see 3 young ladies doing their thing in the top 3.
