Blackberry Records is proud to announce the signing of the Indianapolis, IN based phenomenal group, The Williams Singers to the label. The Williams Singers’ last single release, “Been Good” featuring Zacardi Cortez had a strong showing at Gospel radio and on Billboard’s Gospel Charts. This also brought a new level of notoriety to the group. Blackberry Records is truly excited to have The Williams Singers as a part of the family.
Be on the lookout for their first Blackberry Records single release coming May 2016 and their album release entitled “In Real Time”, coming in late summer.
Every once in a while exceptional talent impacts the gospel industry leaving an indelible impression! Notably, the “highly-anointed” Williams Singers have done just that! What supersized gifts and talents the Lord has given to the gospel music industry! The group emerges as a dynamic component and a super remarkable talent for the 21st century. The group simply propels their uncompromising vocal talent to an unprecedented level of artistic achievement on this project. Essentially, their gifts and talents continue to revolutionize the gospel music industry.
The group was organized by Reverend Charles D. Williams (preacher, quartet singer, sensational songwriter and musician) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Reverend Williams was born in Louisiana with a keen intrinsic melodic distinctive steeped in the roots of traditional gospel. However, this is not surprising because he is the cousin of the late great legendary recording preacher the Reverend Leo Daniels. As a result, the tradition continues with three Williams’ brothers, Darnell, Dezrale and Dezmien who are talented musical virtuosos.
Reverend Williams’ commitment to God and the spirit of excellence enabled him to weather the tumultuous storms of the gospel music industry. The Sacred Text of the Bible became clear to him when he seriously thought of the Scripture which reads to “Train up a child in the way he should go . . .” Accordingly, because he was blessed by God with a musically gifted family, he organized a singing group, the Christian Cavaliers, with his sons who named the group. Subsequently, the name of the group was changed to The Williams Family Singers & finally…The Williams Singers!
Led by God to form their own recording label (Deznell Music Group) the brothers wanted to honor their father who had never recorded by recording a live tribute showcasing the songs he had written for them. Unfortunately, their father had to be admitted to the hospital just before the time to record. Nevertheless, the enormous success of the project coupled with the restored joy of singing quartet music together greatly impacted the brothers and the gospel community in Indianapolis!
Not only are the Williams Singers skillful professional vocalists, they are all accomplished musicians. Their talents transcend various creative art forms as they take their music in a new direction. They simultaneously project their uncompromising vocal and musical talents and gifts to an unprecedented level of creative achievement — a rare, yet liberating talent which is uniquely theirs! However, the gifts just keep flowing they are all writers and arrangers of songs. Two of the brothers are ordained preachers. Yes, God has significantly blessed these men and they are giving back to the community. They have been “Destined” and God has “Been Good.”
To date; The Williams Singers have released six projects dating from 2002 to 2015 which in includes two live DVDs. This journey of recording and ministering to God’s people has brought them to this point.
In March of 2016 The Williams Singers were signed to The Blackberry Records recording label. With this time tested, continuously proven machine behind them, the sky is the limit for this group of brothers.
Their first release on the Blackberry Records label will be entitled The Williams Singers…In Real Time (a live audio/video recording recorded once again in their beloved hometown; Indianapolis, IN.)
A quick glance at their repertoire of performances is quite impressive and validates their authenticity. They have traveled throughout the United States sharing the stage with many top artists.
