Gospel Legend Beau Williams Passes Away at 76

PATH MEGAzine and Publisher/Producer Kris Patrick is deeply saddened to announce the passing of gospel music legend Dr. Beau Williams. Even now, typing these words feels surreal, because I saw him just a few months ago looking vibrant, healthy, and full of life — like a man decades younger than his 76 years.

But in reality, Beau was quietly fighting cancer, and he was called home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Beau Williams was known for classic songs like “Wonderful” and “Walk Around Heaven,” music that helped carry him to No. 2 on the Billboard charts and made him one of gospel music’s most respected voices. Over the course of his career, he received numerous awards and was frequently featured on TBN, Daystar, and BET networks, where millions came to know not only his voice, but also his ministry.

Just two days after I saw him singing and sounding like an angel, he received the diagnosis that something was wrong. Seven months later, he was gone. Beau was not only a family friend to me — he was also a dear brother to my father, Pastor Gregg Patrick, who will always remember him fondly.

To his wife, Elvina, my heart is with you. I am so sorry Beau had to leave you so quickly after the diagnosis. No one could have predicted how fast he would be called home after learning of his illness. The love you shared with Beau was an example to so many of what a Godly marriage looks like. I still carry the image of the two of you praying on your knees together every morning as an encouragement and motivation for me and my wife.

Even until the end, Beau spoke to me about his dreams and plans for the future. I will hold on to that as a reminder that time is short, and that we should never fear what God has called us to do. Beau Williams is a shining example of achievement, excellence, faith, and perseverance.

More than $16,000 has already been raised to help Beau fight his disease, and even more is still needed to help lay him to rest with dignity and honor.  If you’d like to donate click here: https://gofund.me/9d86f1edc

Beau’s last words to the public happened a short time ago on June 2nd, when he posted this Facebook post:

About Beau Williams

Beau Williams was a gospel singer, minister, and recording artist from Houston, Texas, whose career stretched across decades of music and ministry. Raised in a church environment, he developed a powerful voice that blended soul, gospel, and testimony in a way that was unmistakably his own.

His breakthrough recordings, including “Wonderful,” became defining moments in gospel music history, with the title song becoming one of his signature performances and earning major national recognition. Beau’s work on television, especially through Christian broadcasting, helped bring his music into homes across the country and made him a familiar and beloved figure to gospel audiences everywhere.

If you have never listened closely to Beau Williams’ music, now is the time. Go back and hear the richness of his voice, the sincerity in his delivery, and the spirit in every note. His songs carry the kind of anointing, power, and feeling that remind you why his name mattered — and still matters — in gospel music history.
Beau is survived by his wife Elvina, his 3 daughters Nicole, Monica, Janetta, and son James.

Rest in Peace, and Rest in HIM Beau.  We love you,
Kris Patrick – Publisher – Path MEGAzine

‘Mama’ Mosie Burks of Mississippi Mass Choir Passes Away at 92

Path MEGAzine is sad to announce the passing of Gospel legend Mosie Burks, known affectionately as "Mama Burks."

Mama Mosie Burks was born in 1933, into a large migrant farming family in Forest, Mississippi. As a child, she helped her parents pick cotton to make a living, but she was delivered from fieldwork after she kept passing out from the intense Mississippi sun. Early on, she drew inspiration from the singing of Mahalia Jackson and guitar-toting evangelist Sister Rosetta Tharpe; so much so that she took up the guitar at age 12, playing for her local church.
