Are You Nesting? By: Calvin Walker

Are You Nesting? By: Calvin WalkerWhen the bible makes this statement that the double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). I believe that all his ways is not just limited to all spiritual things. I believe that this scripture speaks to every portion of life.

When you have faith in God just because He is, every portion of your life should be at a place that is either in order or progressing towards order. Why? Because when you are a person who simply believes in God and His sovereign power, you understand that at any moment God could move in any area of your life.

Is your house unclean? Is your car a wreck? Do you walk around looking like you just rolled out of bed? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, I challenge your faith. How can these every day things be an indicator of my faith in God? Easy, these everyday things are a testament to how prepared you are for God to do what He said He’d do. When you live your life in preparation for the manifestation of God’s promise, your life should always be at a place of readiness. Of course, preparation is more than these physical things. There must be preparation in prayer, reading and fasting. Your spirit man must be prepared to handle the manifestation. It must be ready to obey God at a moment’s notice. However, I really wanted to focus on these everyday things on today that are too often overlooked.

Parents who are nesting do all they can do to prepare their house because they are in expectation of their baby. What are you doing to prepare your house? What are you doing to prepare your life? If you’ve not begun to make sure that things are in order than I must wonder if you truly expect God to do anything for you. We must understand that we don’t know when God is going to open a door. We don’t know when He will call us to the forefront. Who knows when the divine connection that you’ve been praying for regarding your business will come into your life. For all you know, they will come knocking on your door and ask to use your restroom. It could be the man at the grocery store who is standing in the line right in front of you. And, if God’s divine plan catches you off guard will you be in a ready position that is able to receive what He wants to do. When you are confident that God is going to do something, it is important that everything from your prayer closet to your walk in closet reflects that.

Before I wrap this up, I want to go back to the passage of scripture that started this article, James 1:5-8. The Apostle James was telling the Hebrew people that if they lacked wisdom they should ask God for it. He went on to say that the Lord had no problem giving it to them. But, if they asked Him, they needed to make sure they asked in faith; if they asked in doubt, it was no good. He said that the man who asked in doubt was double-minded and unstable in all his ways. Are your requests not being answered because there is doubt in you that does not believe? Is that doubt affecting your ability to be prepared for the manifestation of God’s promise? Today, I challenge you to take a look around your space and ask if your belief is being reflected in your surroundings. Stay on The Path!
