Gospel star James Fortune and his wife Rhaquele are suing Nakia Price and the owners of the famed Turkey Leg Hut, court documents show.
Fortune loaned the restaurant owners more than 300,000 dollars for a 15% stake in the company. The money went towards paying staff, waste management, supplies, debt owed among other things.
During this time, it was well known that the Turkey Leg Hut was having problems paying back food suppliers, and business practices from the couple that owned the restaurant were constantly in the news. The City of Houston temporarily closed the restaurant due to 35 health code violations.
