The Stellar Gospel Music Awards Announce New Show Producer

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards Announce New Show ProducerThe greatest night in Gospel music, The Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, is shaking things up on the production landscape for its 31st Annual taping. Deborah Byrd has been named the show’s producer, while long-standing producer, Barbara Wilson, will serve as consultant.

While this is Deborah Byrd’s first “starring-role” as the shot-caller of a major television awards special, she is not new to the industry by anyone’s standards. With a penchant for awards show programming, Deborah has been responsible for managing talent for the Billboard Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Emmy’s, and the American Music Awards. She has produced talent for The NAACP Image Awards, Stellar Gospel Music Awards and for more than ten years she’s been behind BET Networks’ ratings powerhouses such as the BET Awards, Hip Hop Awards, BET Honors and Black Girls Rock!

“I’m humbled and honored to be presented with the challenge to take on new responsibilities. My body of work in the television and entertainment industry has prepared me for this amazing opportunity and I’m deeply grateful to Mr. Jackson and Barbara Wilson for believing in me,” said Deborah Byrd.

Though stepping back from producing, Barbara Wilson will continue her connection to the show as executive consultant. Wilson has had a storied career in the industry, serving as the Stellar Awards producer since inception as well as operating in various capacities on hit shows like Taxi, Laverne and Shirley and the Essence Awards.

The Stellar Awards is the longest running Black awards show in television, recognizing the accomplishments of Gospel music icons and individual’s instrumental in advocating for Gospel music. The show will be taped on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Hotel and ticket packages are available, with package prices ranging from $267-$637 per person, including premium or deluxe accommodations as well as priority seating at the live taping and ancillary events. Individual show ticket prices range from $50-$200.

Prior to the Stellar Awards taping, The Stellar Gospel Music Awards Pre-Show will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 to announce winners of the non-televised awards categories. Additionally, The Stellar Gospel Radio Awards & Showcase will be held the morning of February 20th to honor the top radio stations and announcers serving urban Gospel music audiences. Tickets for each event are $35.00.
