Bishop I.V. Hilliard Defends Letter Asking Church Members for $52,000 for New Helicopter Blades

Hilliard came under fire last month for asking supporters of his church for $52,000 to upgrade the blades on his helicopter.  He asked for the money in a letter that was sent to congregants, and now adds that if you aren’t interested in his appeal letter you can simply throw it away. Church of The Holy Sepulchre Struggles With 9 Million Shekel Water Bill

One of the holiest sites in Jerusalem is faced with a harsh reality that could effect millions of Christian tourists who flood the holy city annually.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, recognized by Catholics and other Christian denominations as the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and burial, is struggling with a 9 million shekel ($2.3 million) unpaid bill owed to the Jerusalem water company. Read the full post »
