The Billboard Gospel chart has a new number one this week. The familiar name of Lecrae once again rests on top of the coveted peak that is the Gospel chart.
This is perhaps the last time any Christian rapper will be listed on the Gospel chart after a recent announcement by Billboard senior chart manager Wade Jessen. Viewed on a case by case basis, rappers will now appear primarily on the Christian music chart.
Falling to #2 is JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise. Coming in third is VaShawn Mitchell with his debut release of ‘Unstoppable.’
Also debuting first week sales is Sunday Best alum Jessica Reedy with ‘Transparent.’
