The instantly catchy “Mama” (FlowMasters / Tyscot / ADA) is a mid-tempo Afrobeat with a touch of dancehall. This warm, soulful anthem merits mention alongside gems like The Intruders’ “I’ll Always Love My Mama,” Meghan Trainor’s “Mom,” and Boyz II Men’s “A Song for Mama.” Gardner’s passionate tenor hammers home the unconditional message of love atop a percussive instrumental backdrop and dreamy atmospherics.
