Bishop T.D. Jakes and the Potter’s House family had something to celebrate Sunday Dec. 2. First Lady Serita Jakes finally made a triumphant return to the Dallas, TX church after recovering from a successful surgery to repair a herniated disc in two locations.
“She’s one tough girl,” said her beaming husband of 30 years, Bishop T.D. Jakes during Sunday Morning service, clearly excited over her recovery.
Before surgery, Mrs. Jakes’ left arm and hand were not functioning properly, and she had lost “all feeling and sensation in her extremities” said Bishop Jakes.
But thankfully, the operation went well.
After the procedure, according to Jakes, she awakened from the anesthesia tearfully giving God glory.
“She came out of surgery praising God. She came out thanking God. She came out glorifying God!” he told the congregation.
While he and all the Jakes children gathered around the bed in the recovery area, Bishop Jakes said, “She was weeping,” while reaching out and touching the faces of the children saying, “I can feel my children again.”
It was a very emotional moment for the entire family.
“The whole room was in tears,” Bishop Jakes said–tears of joy.
Recently, Mrs. Jakes tweeted these words:
“Happy are they who take life day by day, complain very little, and are thankful for the little things in life.”
