Point of Grace’s “Directions Home” Released to Critical Acclaim

Point of Grace’s “Directions Home” Released to Critical AcclaimOne of the most successful and endearing artists in Christian music history, Point of Grace continues to widen its circle of fans, winning over critics and industry within Christian and country music with their 13th studio album, Directions Home: Songs We Love, Songs You Know, releasing April 7, 2015.

Over 8 million career album sales, 27 No. 1 songs, 24 of which were consecutive, multiple Dove Awards and GRAMMY nominations marks Point of Grace as one of the most accomplished artists in the history of Christian music. Yet they managed to pull off two career-firsts with Directions Home. It is the first record they co-produced, alongside Andy Leftwich, who is also Ricky Skaggs fiddle player and a member of the GRAMMY Award-winning ensemble, Kentucky Thunder. It’s also their first album primarily comprised of cover songs, including well-known hits like Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water,” Phillip Phillips’ “Home” and Trace Adkins’ “You’re Gonna Miss This,” among others. Special appearances by superstars Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs further set this album apart from many of their previous projects, while widening their reach into the country music world, evidenced by recent and upcoming appearances on CountryWeekly.com, Taste of Country and the Grand Ole Opry, where they performed with Ricky Skaggs.

“Directions Home has so many layers of meaning for us,” shares Shelley Breen. “It represents our past, where we are now, and most importantly, where we are ultimately going–home. Our hope for this project is that people will find encouragement in the lyrics, that they will feel emotions that will bring them great memories and a touch of nostalgia, but the higher purpose of everything on this record is to point listeners to the cross of Christ, which is the only way to truly find our way home.”

With upcoming features in well-known outlets like HomeLife Magazine, CCM Magazine and The Tennessean, critics are already responding favorably to the record.

“When I downloaded the new album by Christian-Country gal group Point of Grace, I immediately knew I’d found my summer cruising sound track. Plus, the album covers a few of my all-time favorite inspirational songs, so I can sing along right away.” – Carey Ostergard, Deputy Editor, FIRST for Women

“At the end of the day, if you are looking for some melodious rich songs sung by those tight-fitting harmonies from the ladies, Directions Home will make your drive eventful and memorable.” – Hallels.com

“Point Of Grace makes a solid effort with these tracks giving us an album that not only is pleasant to the ear, but also thought provoking calling the attention towards our Creator.” – Christian Music Review

Point of Grace will continue to celebrate and share the new record on their current co-headlining tour with Curb recording artist Selah, the You Amaze Us tour. Full tour schedule and ticket information is available here.
