The fast growing genre of Christian music that is Hip Hop continues to surprise many. This week Gospel rapper Trip Lee knocks Reach Records label mate Lecrae out of the top spot to take sole possession of #1 on the Gospel chart. Lee also debuted at #2 on the Billboard Christian chart, and #16 on the secular Billboard Top 200 chart.
Recently diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Trip Lee has a loyal fan base similar to that of Reach Records owner Lecrae. His album ‘Rise’ is in stores now.
Coming in second this week is a strong first week debut from J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise with the album ‘I See Victory.’
And Lecrae comes in third this week with his highly acclaimed album ‘Anomaly.’
