Motown Gospel Signs Rising-Star Royce Lovett

Motown Gospel Signs Rising-Star Royce LovettRecording artist Royce Lovett joins Motown Gospel as new artist signee. After years of touring Europe, South America, and the East and West coast of the United States, the Tallahassee, FL native has found a label home.

Royce Lovett, the son of a worship leader, has been surrounded by music his entire life. At an early age, his mother introduced him to worship bands like Hillsong while also influencing his musical palate with the likes of Michael Jackson. As Royce grew musically, he became inspired by Musiq Soulchild, Soup The Chemist, Lauren Hill and The Fugees; which has birthed Royce’s unique style and sound that he coins today as ‘cerebral soul.’ After hearing his music, it is evident that Royce Lovett is not your typical Gospel artist, although he refuses to speak in code regarding his faith and lifestyle of worship. In fact, Royce Lovett does the very opposite; performing in night clubs and bars, quoting scripture while playing the acoustic guitar, singing soulful melodies and rapping razor sharp lyrics.

His sincere declaration of faith and hope for a brighter tomorrow helped land his recording deal. Performing at an aspiring artist showcase through Preach The Word Worldwide Network in Tallahassee, Royce was selected as the overall winner by Cameron Hilson, digital marketer for Motown Gospel [now Founder and Project Director of Propeller Media Group], who was in attendance as a guest judge. Ironically, Royce was not scheduled to be apart of the event that he inevitably won. Steven Jennings (Owner of Best Artist Rep), whom initially contacted Cameron regarding his involvement with Preach The Word Worldwide Network (PTWWN), insisted that Royce perform and as the event was coming to a close PTWWN added Royce on as the last performer. Steven asked Royce to “play the song that brings the house down.” Royce gladly complied, playing “Hero Song” and “Tell Me About It” and something incredible happened. As a result, Cameron was thoroughly impressed by Royce’s performance and spoke with he and Steven afterwards and the rest is history. Cameron believed Royce was a star in the making and immediately shared his thoughts with his colleagues and arranged to have him flown to Nashville to meet executives at Motown Gospel / Capitol Christian Music Group, eventually securing a contract with them.

Some might say Royce will be a transcendent figure, destined to change the rules of the music industry. Ask Royce if he is up for the challenge and he will surely flash a boyish grin, and nod his head in approval. Listen to his music, take a moment to learn about him, and you too will encounter something new and special in music. You will discover the phenomenal artist, talented musician, and rising star, Royce Lovett.
