Continuing the legacy of “The Godfather of Gospel” Rev. Timothy Wright, his son, Pastor David Wright revived his beloved New York Fellowship Mass Choir with a “live” recording in Brooklyn, NY over the weekend.
Held at the Historic First Church of God in Christ, lines formed around the corner an hour early to witness another installment in the life and memory of the late great gospel legend and were by no means disappointed.
A family affair, brother Derrick Wright presented his group “Driven” and First Lady Geneatha Wright ministered the new radio single from her upcoming project while brother Dwayne Wright served as music director. Pastor David’s mannerisms and movements uncannily mirror his Dad’s with whom he served as music director. Equipped with a hundred fifty plus voices strong, the evening was everything anticipated and more.
With introductions by Albert Jamison, Bishop Sam Williams, and Pastor Kevin Bond, the session featured soloists and writers to include; Chrystal Rucker, Bishop Bruce Parham, Monique Walker-Davenport, Professor Craig Hayes, Doobie Powell, Shawn Bigby, Timoney Figeroa-Caton,, Rubenstein McClure, Saundra Cepeda, Earl Jones, Roger Hambrick, the Leon Lacey Orchestra and more.
The highly anticipated radio single is expected this summer with a scheduled release for early 2014. For information/interviews, contact Kenny Taylor at 4Teemade@gmail.com
