North Korea Executes 80 for Owning Bible

North Korea Executes 80 for Owning BibleTaking the message of Jesus Christ throughout the nations becomes difficult when governments are quick to execute its citizens for simply owning a bible.

Recently, the communist country of North Korea executed 80 people by firing squad for minor misdemeanors, a South Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo reported.

The misdemeanors include things like watching television programs from South Korea or possessing a Bible.

The story says the coordinated executions were held in seven cities earlier this month. In one place, the local government gathered up 10,000 people, including children, and forced them to watch.

Relatives and friends of the victims were also reportedly sent to prison camps.

The bible urges us to, “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” -Hebrews 13:3

Keep those suffering for their faith in your prayers.
