Grammy Winner Rebecca St. James Expecting First Born and Celebrates New Book Release

Grammy Winner Rebecca St. James Expecting First Born and Celebrates New Book ReleaseSocial media world is alive this week with a universe of Rebecca St. James’ followers thrilled with her re-connect on a ‘baby watch update.’ Her photo and request for prayer this weekend for a safe delivery lit up both Twitter and Facebook with an outpouring of re-tweets and shares.

The Grammy Award winning Christian singer and her husband, Jacob Fink, are expecting their first child to arrive this week—hopefully in time for Valentine’s Day. The couple, married in April of 2011, are approaching their baby’s arrival the old fashioned way—they’ve opted not to be told whether their much anticipated new arrival will be a boy or a girl.

In the midst of a career time-out for the baby’s arrival, Rebecca continues to be a major Christian influencer-most recently in the connectivity with readers with her latest book release, The Merciful Scar. Published by Thomas Nelson the book is a fiction work collaborative with co-writer Nancy Rue that addresses the controversial subject of self-injury. An established media voice for women’s value issues from purity to pro life, Rebecca is personally attached to the importance of this book for teen girls and young women.

Grammy Winner Rebecca St. James Expecting First Born and Celebrates New Book Release“When I became aware of Nancy Rue’s tremendous insights into the challenges young women face with self-injury and cutting issues, I wanted to make sure that the message of hope, healing, and forgiveness of self that threads through The Merciful Scar had meaningful impact,” notes Rebecca.

Her position as a major name in Christian music, as well as a successful author and speaker has given her a personal glimpse behind the dark veil of self-abuse that many young women face. “More times than you can imagine while doing concerts around the world, I’d have girls coming up to me in autograph lines, tears streaming down their faces and asking for prayer as they showed me arms covered with scars”.

“More than once after praying I would take my Sharpie and write ‘you are loved’ on the back of their hand and encourage them to look at that message and be reminded how God felt about them. Through Nancy’s powerful gift of bringing reality through fiction, this book is definitely that ‘you are loved’ reminder that I’m passionate about delivering.”

And speaking of ‘delivering’…as this week unfolds, Rebecca remains joyously committed to her life’s newest chapter with the delivery of her first-born –with news updates to follow.
