Gospel power-house Nancey Jackson-Johnson is moving full steam ahead with no stopping in sight. The fall schedule is filled with back-to-back appearances in support of her self-titled CD, The Heart of Nancey Jackson-Johnson.
On Sunday, October 5 Jackson-Johnson will perform at the Annual Circle of Sisters Expo at the Jacob Javitz Center at 11th Avenue between 34th and 39th streets in New York. Circle of Sisters (COS) is the largest expo for women of color in New York City. Founded in 1998 and sponsored by WBLS-FM, HOT 97, WLIB – AM and Emmis Communications, COS hosts a variety of panel discussions, seminars, inspirational services, R&B and gospel concerts and a fashion show in addition to over 200 vendors and small businesses selling unique items and services over a two day period. This year marks the 16th Anniversary for the WBLS/WLIB’s Circle of Sisters Expo and Nancey along label mate Andrea McClurkin-Mellini will be part of the line-up. Three-time Grammy winner and head of Camdon Music, Donnie McClurkin, will be on hand for special performance as well.
Nancey tweeted about her recent reunion with Dr. Bobby Jones saying, “ Dr. Jones welcomed me back with open arms as if I was just there yesterday. His warm staff and his gracious spirit made me feel right at home. I enjoyed my experience at the taping and I felt such a connection with the audience. I praise God for this opportunity and for His favor with Dr. Jones. I was excited for this great opportunity to share my ministry once again.”
The 34th season of Bobby Jones Gospel kicks off in October and Jackson-Johnson is set to perform. Fans can tune-in to BET Networks (check local listings for time) on Sunday, October 12 to see Nancey sing her beautiful ballad “A Little Longer” that implores us to spend more quality time with God.
Current CD, The Heart of Nancey Jackson Johnson continues to receive positive feedback from Program and Music Directors at radio. The Heart Tour is making its rounds throughout the New Jersey area during the months of September and October. “I am so excited about the tour. We are connecting and reconnecting with supporters in this region and we are seeing God encourage and uplift His people as we worship together, it’s been nothing but positive feedback. I am loving this season and embracing all that God is doing through me and for His people,” says Jackson-Johnson.
