Comedian, Actor, Writer and Producer, Akintunde is celebrating his 20th year in stand up comedy on 20 plus tour dates.
No Joke Entertainment announced this week that it will partner withThe Rejoice Musical Soul Food radio network for Akintunde Live: The Rebirth Of Comedy 20/20 Tour. This year’s tour will mark the fourth consecutive year that “The Minister Of Comedy” has toured under the ROC title, which has now become it’s own full fledge comedy brand – spawning a dvd series, syndicated daily radio segment, national comedy talent search, and a television series scheduled to roll into production later this year.
The first of 20 plus North American tour dates is scheduled for April 13th in Greensboro
NC at Evangel Word Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. (Pastor Otis Locket, Jr.), followed by
April 19th in Sumter SC at The Sumter Opera House, and April 20th in Marrietta GA
at Pleasant Grove MBC (Pastor Benjamin Lockhart II). Tickets for the Sumter date are
scheduled to go on sale Friday March 22nd via akintunde.net and several local ticket
outlets (tba). Both the Greensboro and Marrietta dates are Free Admission. The full tour
itinerary will follow this release, and will include stops in Orlando FL, Virginia Beach VA,
Jackson MS, Nashville TN, Savannah GA, Macon GA, Greenville SC, with international
tour stops as well.
The announcement of the ROC 20/20 Tour follows a busy few months for Akintunde
which included an already busy stand up schedule, hosting and co-producing a
2012 Comedy Christmas Special, and the announcement of a new radio distribution
agreement with The Rejoice Musical Soul Food radio network and Broadcast Affiliate
Sales. The deal has already proven fruitful, as Panama City FL and the U.S. Virgin
Islands have already added Akintunde’s 2 hour weekend show (The Akintunde
Show) to it’s programming line up bringing the weekly program’s affiliate list to 52
markets.

Akintunde is a nationally known Christian Comedian with 20 years experience in stand
up garnering scores of national television appearances (BET, TBN, TBS, The Word
Network, The Mo’Nique Show). This year’s tour marks his 10th national comedy tour in
the past 5 years. He is a “go-to” comedy writer with over 350 original television episodes
to his credit (BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Showtime at the Apollo),
recently wrapping 2 seasons as Monologue Writer for the BET late night series, The
Mo’Nique Show, the last year as Head Writer.
