Radio Host Darlene McCoy Takes Over ‘The Nightly Spirit’

Radio One’s nationally syndicated evening time spot for ‘The Nightly Spirit,‘ has had more hosts than the Houston Texans have had quarterbacks in the last few years. Previously James Fortune and then later Willie Moore Jr., ran the evening drive, now Darlene McCoy will attempt to nail down the coveted time slot.

McCoy is best known as Atlanta Praise’s 102.5 FM online personality. The increased airtime will take her from Atlanta’s local market and syndicate her nationally.

McCoy becomes the first female to host “The Nightly Spirit” time slot, since radio one launched 24-hour Gospel formats.

The show will be syndicated by Reach Media, and will air Monday – Friday 7pm – 11pm ET.

The inspirational program has a history of featuring the very best in inspirational music that uplifts listeners through engaging content, along with a focus on higher power, humor, interviews, and poignant interactions.

In addition to being a radio host Darlene McCoy is a mother, recording artist, author, mentor, entrepreneur, comedian, and speaker.
