At this years Stellar Awards taking place in Las Vegas, a new award will be bestowed on some of Gospel’s biggest pioneers.
The Stellar Awards recently sent letters to it’s first inductees of the “Hall of Fame” type honor, and Dr. Bobby Jones was among the first to be considered for the award.
Stellar Award founder Don Jackson told Jones that, “The honor exemplifies your remarkable achievements in the Gospel Music industry and dedicated support of our Stellar Awards over the past 30 years.”
This honor is a special, first-of-its-kind, presentation at the 30th Anniversary of the Stellar Awards taping. Inductees will be presented with a specially commissioned medallion, similar to the Kennedy Center Honors that the President of the United States presents each year.
Additionally, President Barack Obama will be presented with the Stellar Chairman’s Honor during our 30th Anniversary celebration.
Tickets are still available for the awards taking place in Las Vegas at The Orleans Arena March 28, 2015.
Congrats to Dr. Bobby Jones and Tyscot Records founder Dr. Leonard Scott for being among the first to receive this honor!
