Shawn McLemore listened to the audible words of his wife Rhonda McLemore one last time, and acknowledged her with a single tear.  Then the balladeer that meant so much to people around the world took his last breath.  The final words spoken by Rhonda were, “Your daughter will be alright.. REST!”  And then he let go.

Known to those closest to him as Shawn Mac, McLemore was a local Houston legend that was respected in many circles around the world.  It’s been said that his vocal range was one of the purest in the Gospel industry.  Able to hold and manipulate notes with clarity few have ever done before.

Jamal Roberts didn’t get far when he auditioned for season 9, but season 10 brought the balladeer a third place finish and world-wide acclaim.

Season 10 BET’s Sunday Best finalist Jamal Roberts has announced the upcoming release of his debut single titled “He’s Preparing Me”. The highly anticipated single will be released nationally to all digital outlet stores on August 21st.

The Meridian Mississippi native is coming off a successful run on BET’s hit singing competition Sunday’s Best. Roberts beat out hundreds of auditioning hopefuls to make it all the way to the top and final 3 contestants. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Sunday Best decided to transition to an all virtual competition. Jamal and other contestants rehearsed & performed from their homes. Proving to be challenging for all Jamal Roberts thrived and surprised judge’s and viewers each week with his anointing, creativity and his raw vocal ability. As a fan favorite he has generated a positive social media buzz from viewers and those in the music industry.

Although eliminated from the show Jamal received rave reviews throughout the season from host Kirk Franklin & judges Erica Campbell, Jonathan McReynolds & Kelly Price. Prepped for success and looking towards the future Jamal Roberts is ready for the next level!
