Just 2 weeks following the national release of his latest DVD, “Akintunde: The Whole Truth” into major retail and online outlets, Christian Comedian Akintunde has already filmed his follow up project, “The Rebirth of Comedy Presents: The Heavy Hitters”.
Akintunde joined forces with fellow Comedians, Marcus D. Wiley (co-host of The Yolonda Adams Show), Chinitta Morris a.k.a. Chocolate (BET’s Comic View / HBO’s Def Comedy Jam), and Dove Award “Comedian Of The Year”, Bone Hampton (ABC’s The View) for a comedy special that will double as a national tour – set to kick off later this year.
The production took place in front of a packed house at Jacksonville’s Impact Church (formerly Faith Christian Center). The multi-camera television production saw the comedians tackling heavy subjects – while sharing personal testimonies on everything from faith, parenting, living single, relationships, and diabetes. The show featured a rousing musical performance by Christian Recording Artist, Big Redd with featured band, Bass Man Sam & Spiritual Chocolate. The special was created to show the exciting world of stand up comedy that is rapidly growing in forward thinking churches all over the world..
The Rebirth of Comedy Presents: The Heavy Hitters is Executive Produced by Akintunde Warnock, Eunissa Warnock and George Davis. The 5 plus camera shoot was directed by Chris Fanning and featured original music by DJ Ak.
